ARTIST STATEMENT
These works are my visual interpretations of the landscape of the “female wild zone,” as coined by the feminist literary critic Elaine Showalter, the space outside patriarchal boundaries in which women are free to express themselves. In this space, I explore Woman as lover, warrior, caregiver, destroyer, source of all life, as object, and as a glorified and celebrated being. Women in the Wild Zone are goddesses, spirits, primal archetypes; they live with abandon and refuse to accept less than their own realities.
